Google Docs Course

What is Google Docs
Google offers Google Docs as a free alternative to Microsoft Word. Docs’ zero-dollar price tag makes it an improvement on Word. Docs is compatible with Word documents, but the free word processor lacks certain features, such as support for multiple columns. The document is run entirely from the Internet, which places some restrictions on file availability, but it also provides a way to save a constantly revised stream so you don’t lose your work. Unlike Microsoft Word and most other word processors, Google Docs runs in a web browser-you don’t need to install Docs on your computer. Running Docs over the Internet can run on any computer connected to the Internet, but there is a limitation: if you lose your Internet connection, you will lose access to the program. As a solution, Google provides the Drive app and Drive desktop program for Chrome, which can provide offline access to all Drive files, including files in documents. However, to work offline, you need to plan ahead. If you do not set the drive to work offline in advance, you cannot access documents offline in emergency.
